The Number of Industrial Robots Worldwide Reached a Record High!
The number of active robots reached 5.079 million, up 9% from the previous year.

According to data from the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the number of industrial robots operating in factories worldwide reached a record level in 2025. The number of active robots reached 5.079 million, up 9% from the previous year. More than 600,000 new robots were installed in factories during the year, representing an annual increase of 11%.
China maintained its leading position in the global robotics market. A total of 354,000 new robots were installed in the country, accounting for 59% of global installations. The United States moved into second place, overtaking Japan, with 38,500 new robot installations. In India, robot installations increased by 15% to 10,500.
In Europe, however, growth in the robotics market slowed. New robot installations declined by 8% in Germany, 11% in Italy, 8% in France and 15% in Spain. In Türkiye, new robot installations fell 9% to 3,194. Despite this, the total number of active robots in the country’s factories increased 7% to 30,990, reaching a record high. Robots are mainly used in Türkiye’s automotive and metal industries. IFR expects global demand for robots to continue growing. New robot installations are projected to reach 655,000 in 2026 and 806,000 in 2029.
