Gold Prices Rise!

On Tuesday, gold prices rose as the US dollar weakened. Market participants are awaiting inflation data from the United States, which could influence expectations regarding the Federal Reserve’s next interest rate decision. Spot gold rose 0.6% to $4,429.89 per ounce. US gold futures for December remained steady at $4,475.10 per ounce. The US dollar index fell 0.4%. The weaker dollar made gold more attractive to investors using other currencies.

Investors are focusing on upcoming US economic data. The Producer Price Index (PPI) is expected to be released on Thursday, while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is scheduled for Friday. According to the CME FedWatch Tool, investors estimate a 60% probability that the Fed will raise interest rates at its policy meeting next week. Higher interest rates can reduce the appeal of gold, which does not generate interest income. Ongoing tensions in the Middle East are also supporting precious metals. Spot silver rose 1%, platinum gained 0.4%, and palladium increased 1%.
