TikTok to introduce new restrictions for children!
In addition, access to the app will be restricted during nighttime and school hours.

TikTok has reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed in Alabama over children’s use of the platform. Under the agreement, the company will pay the state of Alabama $100 million and introduce new restrictions on children’s use of the app. Under the new rules, children in Alabama will be limited to two hours of TikTok use per day. In addition, access to the app will be restricted during nighttime and school hours. TikTok will also introduce new features allowing parents to monitor their children’s activity on the platform more extensively. The company must make the $100 million payment within 45 days. If TikTok fails to comply with the terms of the agreement, it could be required to pay Alabama up to an additional $300 million. The agreement is aimed at strengthening oversight of children’s social media use and expanding parents’ ability to monitor their children’s activity on the platform.
