Changes have been made to Chelsea’s management!

The ownership structure of English club Chelsea has changed. Clearlake Capital Group has acquired the shares held by the club’s major shareholders, Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, gaining full control of Chelsea.

Following the deal, Todd Boehly stepped down as chairman of the club. He had been one of the key figures in Chelsea’s management since the club was acquired from Roman Abramovich in 2022.

At the time, Chelsea was purchased for approximately £2.5 billion by an investor group consisting of Clearlake Capital Group, Todd Boehly, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss. Following the new agreement, Clearlake Capital Group has become the club’s sole controlling owner.

According to Chelsea, however, the change in ownership structure will not affect the club’s day-to-day operations. The team’s management and existing strategy are expected to continue.

The sale of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter’s shares marks a significant change in Chelsea’s ownership structure in recent years. Clearlake Capital Group will continue to oversee the club’s long-term development plans.
