Messi is preparing to buy a Spanish football club!

Lionel Messi is preparing to acquire a majority stake in Spain’s Eldense football club. According to Spain’s EFE news agency, the Argentine footballer will become the club’s main shareholder once the valuation process is completed. The final agreement is expected to be signed in the coming days.

Based in the city of Elda, Valencia, Eldense has a 105-year history. This will be Messi’s second club investment in Spain in 2026. In April, the footballer also acquired Unio Esportiva Cornella, a club competing in the fifth division. The club has a stadium with a capacity of 5,776 spectators.

Messi’s investments in football do not end there. Together with his former teammate Luis Suarez, he owns shares in a Uruguayan club. His family also founded a club called Leones in Argentina. In addition, Messi may have the opportunity to acquire shares in Inter Miami in the future. The acquisition of Eldense will expand Messi’s portfolio of football clubs and further strengthen his business activities outside football. Messi has also invested in real estate, venture capital and the restaurant industry.
