Apple will change iPhone Pro displays in 2029!

Apple is reportedly planning to use a new display technology in its high-end iPhone Pro models set to launch from 2029. According to a report by UBI Research, the company is working on adopting CoE (Encapsulation on Color Filter) technology, which eliminates the polarizer layer used in traditional OLED displays. The new technology is expected to make displays thinner, improve light transmission and reduce power consumption. The change could also create additional internal space for components such as the battery and camera.

However, removing the polarizer creates technical challenges related to outdoor visibility, reflections and color accuracy. Apple is expected to continue developing the technology until 2029 to address these issues. Samsung Display and LG Display are expected to be the main suppliers in the initial stages, while BOE could also join the supply chain.
