North Korea Announces Test Launch of AI-Enabled Missile.

Pyongyang claims the medium-range missile can alter its trajectory during flight and is integrated with artificial intelligence.

North Korea has announced that it conducted a launch of a medium-range missile integrated with artificial intelligence as part of military exercises.

According to KCNA, the missile was launched toward the East Sea. Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said the missile was capable of changing its flight trajectory at low altitude and was not intercepted by “enemy targets.”

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missile traveled approximately 700 kilometers before falling into the East Sea.

South Korean and US intelligence agencies reportedly tracked the launch from the outset and exchanged relevant information.

According to Seoul, the missile’s flight data is being analyzed. North Korea’s claim that artificial intelligence technology has been integrated into the missile system has not been independently verified.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said on October 1 that Seoul would continue taking concrete steps to reduce military tensions with Pyongyang and build trust between the two countries.
