SpaceX Invests Billions of Dollars in Nvidia Chips

SpaceX is preparing to raise $47.3 billion in financing to purchase Nvidia's next-generation Rubin chips. According to sources, the company has begun discussions with banks and institutional investors for this purpose. The deal is considered the largest debt financing ever recorded for the acquisition of GPU equipment.

The financing package consists of an $8.3 billion senior secured loan and several bond tranches. Goldman Sachs is leading the loan portion, while Apollo is the main investor in the bonds. Pacific Investment Management Co. is also participating in the transaction.

According to sources, some investors have been offered financing tranches of up to $500 million before the official syndication process begins.

The funds raised, together with $7 billion in lease payments, will be used to purchase Nvidia Rubin chips worth a total of $47.3 billion. The chips are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2027. The deal is structured to keep the debt off SpaceX's balance sheet.
