Lucy Chou: Investors prefer adaptability, determination, and reliability.

Although artificial intelligence and new tools are rapidly changing the business environment, the core qualities investors look for in founders remain the same. Investor, international author, and ecosystem builder Lucy Chou expressed this view in her speech at the CAMCA Regional Forum. According to her, these qualities are adaptability, determination, and reliability.

Chou noted that today technology is fundamentally updated roughly every six months. At this pace, entrepreneurs' skills are constantly put to the test. For this reason, she advised founders first and foremost to learn to adapt to change: investors prefer teams that have precisely this ability.

In the speaker's view, this criterion does not depend on artificial intelligence. Whichever direction technology develops in, investors want to work with founders who keep up with the times and are ready to change.

Lucy Chou also said she is optimistic about artificial intelligence. She regards this technology as the democratization of access to opportunities and said that it excites her.

Chou particularly emphasized that markets such as MENA (the Middle East and North Africa) and Central Asia could benefit greatly from this process. According to her, everyone in these regions has reason to be excited.

Chou's message is simple: tools and trends change, but the characteristics that set a successful founder apart do not. Adapting to change, pursuing goals with determination, and earning trust remain the key criteria regardless of technology.
