Investments in Artificial Intelligence Could Surpass Trillions!

According to a report by PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), the accelerated development and adoption of artificial intelligence could sharply increase investment in data centers. According to the company’s estimates, if AI develops faster than expected, global spending on data centers could reach $50 trillion over the next 25 years. This amount is close to the United States’ GDP of approximately $30 trillion. According to the forecast, the United States will account for the largest share of spending. Around $15.1 trillion could be invested in data centers in the country. The Asia-Pacific region will follow with $8.2 trillion, Europe with $5.6 trillion, the Middle East with $1.1 trillion, and Africa with $255 billion.

PwC says investments in data centers will continue to grow through 2050. One of the main reasons is the need to regularly upgrade servers, chips, storage systems, and other equipment. According to the company, energy supply is the most important factor in making these investments possible. Access to reliable, affordable, and increasingly low-carbon electricity is crucial for data center operations. Countries with limited energy capacity may face greater difficulties in attracting investment. According to PwC estimates, global data center spending could rise from around $800 billion in 2026 to $1.1 trillion in 2030 and $1.8 trillion in 2050. China and India are also expected to play an important role in this growth due to their large populations and rapidly expanding digital economies.
