Anthropic Prepares for $45 Billion Infrastructure Deal

Nscale, an AI computing infrastructure provider backed by Nvidia, is reportedly in talks with Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI model, over an infrastructure deal worth approximately $45 billion.

According to Bloomberg, the companies are discussing the construction of a second facility at the Monarch data center campus in West Virginia, USA. The new facility is planned to provide 460 megawatts of computing capacity using Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips.

Nscale’s regulatory filings related to its initial public offering (IPO) list infrastructure contracts with Anthropic worth approximately $44.6 billion. However, negotiations are ongoing, and the terms of the deal could change.

Nscale is targeting a valuation of approximately $30 billion in its IPO. The potential agreement is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the market.

Anthropic is expanding its computing capacity to meet growing demand for its AI models. The company has previously signed major agreements, including a $50 billion infrastructure deal with Fluidstack.

Once completed, the Monarch campus is expected to have a total capacity exceeding 8 gigawatts. However, large investments in AI infrastructure and rising debt levels are raising concerns among investors.
