Electricity Consumption in China Has Reached a Record Level!
During the month, electricity consumption in the country exceeded 1 trillion kilowatt-hours for the first time, reaching 1.033 trillion kilowatt-hours.

Electricity demand in China reached a record level in August. Monthly electricity consumption in the country exceeded 1 trillion kilowatt-hours for the first time, reaching 1.033 trillion kilowatt-hours. This represents a 1.7% increase compared with the same period last year.
The highest demand for electricity was recorded in the industrial sector. Industrial electricity consumption increased by 2.7%. In particular, electricity use in the high-tech and equipment manufacturing sectors rose by 7.2%, reaching 122.2 billion kilowatt-hours.
Electricity consumption at electric vehicle charging and battery-swapping stations increased by 51%, while consumption at internet data centers rose by 38%. These figures show the rapidly growing demand for technology and electric transportation in China.
On the other hand, electricity consumption in residential areas fell by 4% due to heavy rainfall and typhoons. One of the main reasons was lower demand for air conditioning.
