According to AZERTAC, citing Akorda, the composition of the People's Council was approved by a decree of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The People's Council of Kazakhstan serves as the supreme constitutional advisory body representing the interests of the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Council develops proposals and recommendations on the main directions of the state's internal policy, submits draft laws to the Kurultai, and initiates national referendums.
