The valuation of Chinese artificial intelligence company Moonshot AI has risen to $50 billion. According to Bloomberg, the creator of the Kimi chatbot plans to conduct an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the first quarter of 2027.

The company is reportedly expected to raise up to $5 billion through the IPO. Bank of America is leading the deal, while China International Capital Corp., Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs are among the sponsors.

Meanwhile, another Chinese AI company, DeepSeek, is also preparing for a major funding round. The company is expected to raise between 80 billion and 100 billion yuan in a round that includes Tencent and CATL.

DeepSeek is reportedly expected to be valued at around 500 billion yuan in this round. The company has also hired CITIC Securities for a potential IPO on Shanghai’s STAR Market.

Both companies are also reportedly under investigation by China’s Cyberspace Administration over their use of data from Anthropic’s Claude chatbot. It remains unclear how the investigation will affect their plans to go public.
